This is the new self-leveling stairway we build. It can allow access from any seawall to any floating dock. Call 1-888-414-4425 (in Canada) or 1-519-864-4357 now for pricing and availability.
This is available many lengths. The treads are 1' apart. Our treads have a standard width of 3' (or 31.75" between the balusters). We find this width is similar to the stairs on the inside of homes. We no longer provide custom widths.
All fasteners are made of stainless steel. The roller on the bottom is made of polymer and aluminum parts.
The connection to the shore/seawall is bolted in most cases. It is also possible to weld, since the connection to the wall is made of regular mild steel. This steel bracket is also powdercoated.
This is made in Canada.

It keeps the stair treads level as the water level changes. This allows a steeper slope (from the shore to the dock) than a ramp.
How to choose and price
The top and bottom treads are different because the top one has an attachment bracket for the seawall, and the bottom tread has a roller on it. This makes the first 2 treads $470. Each additional tread is $175.
The customers are impressed with the quality and appearance.
We have a 1" space between every tread.
For a more comfortable stairway that is more like an architectural one, use a 45° angle. So if you have a 6' transition, add 40% and it will tell you the length. 6' x 1.4 = 8.4' We can round this down to 8' (or 9 treads). This angle is much more comfortable to climb: It is less like a step ladder, and more like a household staircase.

Examples
For example , the 7' is just the length of the stairway. So this means there are 8 treads. There is a tread at the 0' mark and one at the 1' mark, etc.
This stairway is 5' long so it has 6 treads.
